A report from the 8th Annual From Peace to Justice Conference, “Rethinking human security and ethics in the spirit of Dag Hammarskjöld,” is now available online. The conference, which was organised by the Hague Academic Coalition in
cooperation with Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation, Embassy of Sweden, Groitus Centre, International Institute of Social Studies and The Hague Institute for Global Justice, took place in the Hague on November 9-10, 2011.
The conference examined whether and how Dag Hammarskjöld’s legacy can be used as a vehicle in reviewing current events, such as the recent Arab Spring uprisings and the development of a collective security system, due to his achievements as Secretary-General of the UN and because of his deeply felt ethical and philosophical approach to international service.
