Lecture

Sten Rylande & Sven HamrellPerspectives on Liberation and Development in
Southern Africa

Sten Rylander, ambassador of Sweden to Zimbabwe, presented this lecture in honour of the Foundation's long-serving former director Sven Hamrell. It was organised by and hosted at the Centre in connection with Sven Hamrell's 80th birthday. Ambassador Rylander's lecture provides insights into the historical role of Sweden in support of liberation struggles and developments in Southern Africa. It includes particular reference to Sven Hamrell's role. The lecture combines the retrospective with an assessment of the current challenges and the future perspectives of Swedish relations to the sub-regional actors.
