 Post-Copenhagen Dialogue on
Global Governance, Climate Change and Development

This Dialogue is a follow-up to our earlier meetings;
- our first African ambassadors’ dialogue workshop on climate change and development negotiations and processes pre-Copenhagen arranged by the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation in Uppsala in June 2009;
- the seminar the Foundation co-organized with concerned partners in the United Nations, New York in September;
- and of our meeting just before Copenhagen in Stockholm around expectations and fears for the Copenhagen Summit.
At our last come together the view was confirmed that a follow up meeting with the external resource persons (Bo Kjellén, Anders Wijkman and Fiona Rotberg) in the format of a post-Copenhagen gathering would be worthwhile.
The Copenhagen process and outcome underscored and illustrated the complexities involved in such efforts to come to terms with global challenges. We would like to seek an interactive process of exchange with the intention to further strengthen and focus our Dialogue. We therefore invite you to share with us one or two issues that you would like the Dialogue to specifically deal with already in your response to this invitation. We do hope to be able to welcome many of you soon again. |
