How do we shape the emerging world society? Is it realistic to vision a fair and green global development in our interconnected though divided and finite world?
Dr Wolfgang Sachs, based at the Wuppertal Institute in Germany, heads the Cross-cutting Project “Globalization and Sustainability“. He is considered one of the most thoughtful intellectuals to deal with the dual crisis in the Western world's relations with nature and social justice. Wolfgang Sachs lectures widely and has written numerous publications on development, environment, and globalisation. ((Titles include “Development Dictionary, Global Ecology: A New Arena of Political Conflicts” and “Greening the North: A Post-Industial Blueprint for Ecology and Equity“. In the presentation, Sachs will in particular draw from the material in his forthcoming book with the same title as this seminar, Fair Future: Limited Resources and Global Justice.))
